If you want to keep fit but you don’t know how then we can help you with that. Here is a post on how you could run your way to the perfect body!
Kit Basics
If you are a beginner then you will want to do everything you can to get the right clothing. You will want to have loose clothing and you will also want to make sure that it is very comfortable. Getting a good pair of trainers is also a must-have.
At the end of the day, when you do go shopping for some trainers you need to remember that the trainers will need to absorb up to three times of your body weight every time you hit the floor. Of course, the greater shock that your shoes absorb, the less pressure will be placed on your joints so that is something that you need to think about.
It is also a good idea for you to replace your shoes after around 12 months. This can depend on the number of miles that you do every week. If you are running every week then it is a good idea for you to wear some high visibility clothing as this will help you to stay seen in very low-lit areas.
And the last thing that many runner consider completely essential to their training is a good pair of earbuds or headphones so that they can listen to music while on a run. You want to make sure you get ones that are a ‘sport’ model so that they won’t constantly fall off while you are running, and it’s a good idea to get ones that use bone conduction to transmit the sounds. Do not use noise-cancellation while running! You need to be able to hear what is going on around you for safety.
Technique
If you do not have an efficient running style then you will tire much more quickly. A bad technique can leave you feeling injured and in pain. You will want to look around 10 metres ahead of you with your eyes looking slightly down. It is also a good idea for you to keep your shoulders squared as well. They should roll inward with every stride that you take.
On a treadmill, however, you will be stationary as the belt moves. When you do run, you will push up with every stride that you take. Outside, however, the ground is stationary so you will have to adjust the way that you run. If you want to avoid this problem then you will need to run at a gradient of 1 percent when on the treadmill.
Conclusion
So as you can see, having the right gear is very important and you would be surprised at how easy it is for you to try and get the best result out of your technique. Of course, if you can it is a good idea for you to try and run with someone else because this way you can share your experience with someone. You can also talk with them about their own fitness goals as well so that is something else that you need to think about when the time does come for you to start running for yourself.
