On Black Friday and Small Business Saturday, Elite Runners & Walkers will be collecting items for Light of Life Ministries in the North Side at both our Robinson and Monroeville locations. Over the years, Light of Life has been an invaluable resource to the Pittsburgh homeless community and we strongly believe in the work they do. We hope you will help us assist them as they days get shorter and the nights get colder.
Founded in 1952, the Mission was known as Harbor of Hope Rescue Mission where it served as a refuge for transient men. In 1957, it was named Light of Life Rescue Mission. Eventually, programs were expanded to include women and children. In 1979, the Mission purchased buildings on the North Side where the bulk of its programming is still conducted. In 2012, Light of Life purchased 635 Ridge Avenue, the proposed future site of Light of Light programming. We look forward to seeing what God does with Light of Life in years to come!
